I think we as children still have it. My happiest childhood memories contain meetings with "the more than human".

I too fear humans out in the woods, or out in the dark. And well, yes. that is sad. That it is what holds me back from long adventures hiking on my own, staying in my tent on my own - and that makes me angry - that I have had so many experiences making me fear my fellow human beings - so I keep away from doing what I love to do.

I do work on learning to do it despite my fears. I want a full life - not to be held back by my fears. It is all part of my rewilding journey...
