Wow... I am stunned by your kind words about me and the impact of my writing Patsy. I am so happy I choose to be a writer for the Fourth Wave, for many reasons, but this alone, that what I wrote impacted how you thought and felt about your son, is the most important reason. That is exactly why I write. And share my writing. My wish for all of us to see each other primarily as a fellow human, each of us having our own struggles. Some of us venturing outside our commonly shared ground of how communication between us should look like. Having a more acute and intense experience of life - perhaps due to trauma, perhaps due to being born different.

It does not make us crazy. Or in need of coercive mental health care.

I hope your son and you find a way to be with each other that is not hurting each other. I hope your son finds out how to live his life, on his own terms, without hurting himself, those who love him, or any one else. The journey to get there can be long, but is so worth it.
